This year, the Rude Mechanicals plan to depart from their customary store of mainly instrumental music. On this occasion they mean to delve into their extensive and eclectic – even eccentric – archive of songs. Their repertoirewill be largely drawn from the folk traditions of here and there, but that leaves the field wide open for a typically varied programme. And as ever, they’ll be making use of the remarkable range of instruments at their disposal. The regular Mechanicals are Ray Chandler and Barry Ruffell (known to many as Wednesday night habitués atthe Ferry Inn). They’ll be joined once again by their confederate with a selection of guitars, Jeremy Sherman.

The Marina Choir will also be in attendance alongside a plethora of fine soloists taken from the orchestra. Mike Lloyd will be your master of ceremonies for the concert.
